Les premiers 80 km sur la Vía de la Plata, de Séville à El Real de la Jara : quelques informations pour ceux qui souhaitent se mettre en route.

Je suis parti de Séville le 31 juillet et maintenant, après 3 jours de marche et 81,7 km, je me trouve à El Real De La Jara.
L'itinéraire est entièrement exposé au soleil, et à 9h30/10h du matin, le thermomètre affiche déjà 30 degrés, atteignant 45 degrés en début d'après-midi. Ces températures extrêmement élevées expliquent pourquoi on déconseille d'entreprendre la Vía de la Plata pendant les mois d'été, et pourquoi on voit si peu de pèlerins sur le chemin (à peine une dizaine rencontrés jusqu'à présent).
Les étapes se composent d'une même proportion de chemins de terre et d'asphalte. Ce qui change, c'est leur perception : sur l'asphalte, les pieds souffrent, ils chauffent, et la chaleur qui monte est étouffante ; la terre, en revanche, amortit mieux les pas et absorbe la chaleur au lieu de la diffuser.
Le balisage est présent, bien que insuffisant à la sortie de la ville de Séville. Je déconseille cependant d'entreprendre la Vía de la Plata comme premier chemin car il faut déjà avoir un peu d'expérience pour savoir où regarder : par exemple sur les poteaux de signalisation routière, sur les feux tricolores, sur les bordures des trottoirs, sur les regards d'égout, sur les pierres au sol, sur les arbres.
Dans les villages, les habitants sont très accueillants ; ils sont gentils et si vous demandez des informations, ils se montrent disponibles. Les villages disposent également de tous les services : bars, restaurants, distributeurs automatiques et magasins, une bonne occasion pour faire des provisions abondantes d'eau. Il ne faut pas compter sur les fontaines publiques qui, de toute manière, ne se trouvent que dans les villages, et le long du chemin, à part quelques mares pour abreuver les animaux, il n'y a rien.
Il existe différents albergues : les albergues privés, à 12/20€, où vous pouvez également trouver la climatisation, les albergues municipaux à 10€ et certains fonctionnant sur le principe du don. Tous ceux où j'ai séjourné étaient des structures impeccables, bien qu'on souffrait un peu de la chaleur.
Un conseil que je tiens à donner est de faire la Vía de la Plata comme deuxième ou même troisième chemin. Il est également fondamental de bien calculer les étapes : lisez attentivement la description du parcours avec les montées et les tronçons d'asphalte pour évaluer à peu près l'heure à laquelle vous y arriverez ; de cette façon, vous pourrez éviter les tronçons d'asphalte aux heures les plus chaudes, ou du moins vous en rapprocher.
Apportez également une paire de sandales : ce sera votre salut sur les tronçons d'asphalte comme sur les chemins de terre ; le pied respirera et ne souffrira pas enfermé dans une chaussure.
Enfin, ayez une bonne raison de faire ce chemin et tenez-vous y fermement ! C'est un parcours vraiment difficile et il est facile dès le début de remettre votre projet en question.
