Se registraron 15.103 llegadas a Santiago durante abril de 2016, mostrando un descenso respecto al promedio histórico de otros años.

Esta reducción se debe probablemente a un excepcional mes de marzo, favorecido por la celebración de la Semana Santa.

Pocos peregrinos menores de 30 años, especialmente comparado con el 20% de mayores de 60, cifra evidenciada por la triplicación de jubilados y la reducción a la mitad de estudiantes respecto al mes anterior.

Destaca el arribo de 25 peregrinos en silla de ruedas, testimonio de gran coraje y determinación. Un dato que refleja un Camino cada vez más accesible y atento a las necesidades de todos.

Sarria para el Camino Francés y Oporto para el Camino Portugués continúan siendo los puntos de salida más populares, seguidos respectivamente por Saint Jean Pied de Port y Tui (para los últimos 100 km). Con 462 salidas de 470 llegadas, Ferrol se reafirma como el único punto de inicio del Camino Inglés, cada vez más distanciando la variante de A Coruña.
